Wye Oak releases their new song April 29th

March 3, 2014 Wye Oak (Jenn Wasner and Andy Stack) will be performing new music from their forthcoming album Shriek at this year’s SXSW. Shriek will be released April 29th on Merge. The Baltimore two-piece debuted a first track, “The Tower” via NPR in January and with it a totally new sound. Wasner, typically known for her guitar playing decided to write the album primarily on bass. That coupled with Stack’s layered keyboards gave way to a much lusher and dreamier sound. The band will play six shows at Austin’s SXSW Festival. Their official showcase takes place at The Parish (Merge Showcase) at 11:45 PM on Thursday, March 13th. In addition they will play day parties for Hype Machine/Consequence of Sound, World Cafe, KEXP, The Onion AV Club and BrooklynVegan. Wye Oak will be on tour throughout the US and Europe this spring including a stop at Coachella. Listen to “The Tower” here: Wye Oak – The Tower
